Power of Attorney for Health Care

As with the Power of Attorney for finances, the Power of Attorney for Health Care designates an agent (usually your spouse or other family member) to make health care decisions for you in the event you are not competent or able to make those decisions on your own. The power of attorney can render either broad or limited authority to your agent. As with the financial Power of Attorney, the health care Power of Attorney allows you to avoid the potential of a Court action to appoint a guardian should you suffer an incapacity in the absence of a properly executed power of attorney for health care.
